What You Will Do

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of JavaScript-based applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across both frontend and backend.

Work on specific problem spaces critical to Klarna's needs, with opportunities to switch teams as both you and our fast-paced business evolve.

Work with modern technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, React, and React Native to build seamless and scalable solutions.

Utilize cloud technologies, primarily AWS, to develop and deploy services.

Engage in the full project lifecycle—from conception to deployment and beyond—ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specifications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Klarna to align on integration strategies and optimize system architecture.

Drive an engineering culture within the team, emphasizing innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues in our distributed and financial systems.

Work in small autonomous teams with short release cycles.

Who You Are

Proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript, with strong experience in Node.js and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React / React Native).

Experienced in architecting and building scalable, robust systems across the stack.

Skilled with cloud technologies, especially AWS.

Adept in distributed systems, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate issues proactively.

Independent, able to manage projects end-to-end and contribute to technical direction.

A strong communicator, capable of collaborating effectively across teams and domains.

Experience mentoring others and contributing to a positive engineering culture.

Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

Awesome to have

Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.

Familiarity with REST and/or GraphQL APIs.

Experience with tools such as Kafka, Docker, Jenkins, Datadog, or Splunk.

Experience working in fintech or other regulated environments.
