Amazon internships are full‑time positions, and interns should expect to work onsite Monday‑Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms about working hours will be communicated by your manager. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work‑day.
Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after the internship concludes. Do you want to be part of a team that deploys and automates one of the world’s largest and most complex networks? As a Network Engineer working within AWS Infrastructure you will be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that support Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments, and multiple AWS services. You will work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume and will have the opportunity to deploy, scale, and automate our network across multiple global datacenters, including existing footprints and greenfield locations.
Key job responsibilities
- Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
- Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
- Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies.
- Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem‑solving abilities.
