Engineer (C++) at BairesDe v

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong C++ skills and a genuine interest in the internals of distributed query engines. You’re someone who has worked on execution performance, understands how data moves through a query pipeline, and knows how to use profiling tools to find and fix the bottlenecks others walk past. You’ll be contributing to query engine infrastructure that processes data for some of the largest analytics environments in the world — where every optimization has a real impac t.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and optimize query engine components in C++, focusing on execution performance and reliabil ity.
• Profile and debug distributed systems using low-level tooling such as flame graphs and p erf.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of distributed query processing infrastruct ure.
• Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks across query execution pipeli nes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance data processing soluti ons.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practi ces.

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 4+ years of experience with C++ as a primary programming lan guage.
• Experience with query engine or database inte rnals.
• Background in distributed systems design and develo pment.
• Hands-on experience with performance profiling tools such as flame graphs or perf.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving s kills.
• Advanced proficiency in En glish.
