As an English and Italian native speaker, as well as a life-long learner of languages with international teaching experiences, I am passionate about working with students so that their learning process can be fun, practical, student-centred, and self-exploratory.
From 2021 to 2024, I taught English in two Italian state-high schools, teaching all four skills of the common European framework across the A2-C1 level pertaining to grammar, vocabulary, listening and written production. In addition, Process Drama was also used in literature classes, which is a teaching modality that uses theatre elements for students to engage with the learning materials.
On 13 October, 2023, I graduated from the University of Padua with a Masters in European and American Literature, culminating with my thesis on Mary Shelley’s dystopia The Last Man. Althrough already in possession of a Masters in TESOL, 2014, from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (U.S.) and two Bachelor degrees, 2007, in English Literature and Comparative Literature, as well as a CELTA certification, 2017, acquired in Seoul, South Korea, whilst teaching abroad, I decided to become a qualified teacher in Europe by heading back to university.
From 2019 to 2022 I had taught a range of courses at a private school in Vicenza, Italy, which included: preparatory courses ranging from A1- C2 following the Wall Street English curriculum as well as the Cambridge ESOL, IELTS, TESOL and PTE exams/certifications, business English and medical English to professionals, and topic-centred conversation classes for students with the same English level.
Prior to this, I had been selected to teach as a visiting English teacher and professor in South Korea from 2015 to 2017. During my first contract, I taught as a Guest English teacher two middle schools on the Island of Geoje, a truly majestic place resembling Hawaii. The following year, in 2016, I was scouted by a visiting professor who recruited me to teach at Chinju National University of Education in Jinju city as an English Professor since I had the required qualifications.
In addition to teaching, I also had a managerial experience from 2012 to 2013, as an international program coordinator of an exchange program between a Pennsylvania private high school in the US and visiting Chinese students.
This was not my first teaching experience in Asia, as I also had the pleasure of teaching English to learners ranging from elementary students to adults and working professionals in Beijing, China for two years from 2008 to 2010 at one of the leading companies which catered English classes in the country.
My unique teaching path has developed my flexibility, intercultural-abilities and open-mindedness. What I offer are years of academic preparation and teaching experiences that have exposed me to practical, yet meaningful teaching techniques. My objective lies not only in meeting your curricular goals, but also in helping students become personally motivated as they develop into their own persona, fostering lifelong learning and academic curiosity.
I look forward to hearing from you to discuss possible future teaching opportunities.
