My name is Bara'a Abdel-Gader, a Biomedical Engineering Graduate from the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Amman, Jordan. I am on a pursuit to study abroad and propagate my knowledge and experience in my major. I also hope that this journey would further develop my character and skills, both of which will serve significant value in the future.
My most recent experience has been completing my Internship with Personal MedSystems GmbH, known for their CardioSecur product line, and serving in the Quality Control and Research and Development (R&D). I was tasked with several duties, including the conduction of software validation tests, generation of test procedures and test scripts, the inspection and documentation of their ECG devices, and the updating of theirclinical Evaluation and Vigilance reports.
During my time at the German Jordanian University, I have learned about different areas of biomedical engineering, including but not limited to IEEE-style writing and editing, medical instruments and devices, and digital systems and electronics. I have also taken courses on medical imaging systems, medical signal processing, and automatic control systems. I have completed my coursework resulting in an 86.4 average. Throughout this period, I have performed my Graduation Project on a flexible elastomer-based artificial hand whose intent was to serve as a low-cost and simple to manufacture alternative to various costly artificial and bionic hands. I have also contributed to a research project to investigate the effect of using mobile phones on the musculoskeletal system. The outcomes of the project have been published in WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation.
