Why can't I send a message directly by email?

BeBee routes all initial contact through its built-in messaging system. This protects both parties' privacy and keeps a record of your conversations. Email and other direct contact options become available once a connection is established.

Can I attach files to my messages?

Yes. When composing a message, use the attachment button to upload files such as resumes, portfolios, or documents. Supported formats include PDF, images, and common document types.

Will the other person know I messaged them?

Yes. The recipient receives a push notification (if enabled) and the message appears in their Dashboard under Messages. They will also see an unread indicator until they open the conversation.

How do I know when I have a new message?

BeBee sends a push notification to your device when a new message arrives (if notifications are enabled). You will also see an unread badge on the Messages section in your Dashboard.

Can I message multiple people in a single thread?

Conversations on BeBee are currently one-to-one. Each thread is between you and one other user. To contact multiple people, start a separate conversation with each person.

Do my messages disappear after a certain time?

No. Your full conversation history is preserved and accessible from your Dashboard at any time. You can scroll back through older messages whenever you need to.

Why can't I see someone's phone number or email?

BeBee protects user privacy by hiding direct contact details until a connection is established. You need to have applied to their job, sent a service proposal, or received one -- and the viewing user must have a premium subscription.

Do I need premium to message someone?

No. Sending messages through BeBee's built-in messaging is free for all users. Premium is only required to view direct contact details like phone numbers, WhatsApp, and email addresses after a connection has been made.

What counts as a 'connection' that unlocks contact details?

A connection is created when one user applies to the other's job posting or when a service proposal is submitted and accepted. Both a job application and a marketplace proposal count as valid connections.
