Analytics Engineer

Position Overview A high-growth AI startup based in Tokyo specializing in flight optimization solutions is hiring an Analytics Engineer. This position serves as the primary technical bridge between the Business Development (BizDev) team and the Data Science research team, converting raw customer flight datasets into actionable commercial insights and product requirements.

What the Engineer Will Do

• Analyze Data: Test solution feasibility on client flight data and identify operational bottlenecks.
• Build Pipelines: Automate data analysis pipelines using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python).
• Track Impact: Set KPIs to measure fuel savings, cost reductions, and safety gains.
• Inform Strategy: Guide BizDev on client deals and Data Science on AI feature updates.
• Present Results: Build data decks and present insights directly to client decision-makers.

Requirements

• Education: STEM Master’s degree or higher.
• Coding: Master’s in CS OR 3+ years of coding experience (Python, TypeScript, C++, etc.).
• Data Analytics: 3+ years using data to solve business problems, set KPIs, and measure impact.
• Language: Business English or higher.

Preferred

• Experience with scalable data systems or AWS CDK (willingness to learn AWS CDK on the job is welcome).
