Data Engineer

A leading technology company is seeking a Data Engineer / Senior Data Engineer to support large-scale data platform and analytics initiatives. This role will focus on building scalable data pipelines, optimizing cloud-based data platforms, and enabling data-driven decision-making across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
• Build and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting data marts on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop data processing solutions using Python, SQL, PySpark, Databricks, and Airflow.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, governance, and platform performance.
• Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and product teams to deliver impactful data solutions.
• Support dashboarding, reporting, and advanced analytics initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years (Data Engineer) or 6+ years (Senior Data Engineer focused on GCP) of Data Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with GCP (BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (advanced for the DE role).
• Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Hands-on experience with Airflow, Databricks, or other modern data platform technologies.
• Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, DOMO, or similar.
• Familiarity with Git and Linux environments.

Preferred (not mandatory)

• Experience with dbt, Kafka, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD.
• Exposure to big data, streaming platforms, or MLOps/AI-related projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

English business to fluent level

Japanese preferred
