Data Engineer (GCP) - Analytics Platform
About The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing Analytics Platform team focused on building scalable, data-driven solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with large-scale datasets, modern cloud technologies, and AI-powered development tools to support business-critical analytics and decision-making.
The successful candidate will help strengthen data infrastructure, improve data quality and reliability, and contribute to the evolution of a sophisticated analytics platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL and data processing pipelines.
- Build reliable and cost-efficient data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Own data validation, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure accurate analytics outputs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
- Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data products.
- Drive automation initiatives and contribute to CI/CD and infrastructure improvements.
- Leverage Generative AI tools and AI agents to improve engineering productivity and development workflows.

Requirements
Must-Have
- 5 years of experience developing and supporting data pipelines, analytics platforms, or large-scale data systems.
- Strong hands-on experience building and troubleshooting ETL pipelines in cloud environments, preferably GCP.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and scripting languages.
- Understanding of analytics concepts such as user behavior, sessions, and conversion tracking.
- Experience using Generative AI tools, coding assistants, or AI agents in day-to-day development work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with BigQuery, Managed Spark, or other GCP data services.
- Experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms.
- Strong understanding of ETL architecture and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Spark optimization and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with data QA, regression testing, and analytics validation.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.
