Role Description The Database Developer role at EgoTECHworld is a full-time remote position focused on designing, building, and maintaining efficient and secure database solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing database structures, writing and tuning queries, implementing ETL processes, and ensuring data integrity across multiple systems. The role involves collaborating with engineering and product teams to translate business requirements into robust data models, as well as supporting database administration tasks such as performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

The Database

Developer will also contribute to documentation, participate in code reviews, and help improve data workflows and standards.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Database Development and Database Design, including experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Database Administration, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools, with the ability to build reliable data pipelines.
• Solid Analytical Skills for interpreting data requirements, diagnosing issues, and optimizing database performance.
• Experience with SQL and at least one major database platform (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages commonly used with databases (e.g., Python, Java, or C#).
• Understanding of data modeling, normalization, and best practices for data quality and governance.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
