Front Office Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking a high-calibre Software Developer to join a client-facing, front-office technology team supporting the APAC Structured Products franchise within Equity Derivatives. This role focuses on building and enhancing the Trading platform, enabling real-time pricing, trade capture, and client connectivity across the structured products lifecycle.

Platform Overview

• End-to-end structured products platform covering pre-trade and post-trade functions
• Capabilities include pricing, trade capture, legal documentation, and client connectivity
• Real-time processing environment supporting front-office business users
• Built using Python and Java WebServices architecture

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software solutions across the Comet platform
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code (including unit testing and code reviews)
• Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized
• Adhere to secure coding standards and best practices
• Collaborate with global development teams to promote code quality and knowledge sharing
• Partner closely with front-office stakeholders including Sales, Structuring, Trading, Quants, and Operations
• Provide Level 2 production support, troubleshooting and resolving system issues
• Contribute to continuous platform enhancement and innovation initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–10 years of software development experience, preferably in financial services
• Strong proficiency in Core Python and/or Core Java
• Hands-on experience with modern Web Services (REST/SOAP APIs)
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related analytical discipline
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and SDLC
• Excellent communication skills in English

Preferred Skills

• Domain knowledge in Equity Derivatives / Structured Products
• Understanding of pricing, risk, order management, and lifecycle management
• Experience with industry platforms and protocols such as FIX, Contineo, FinIQ, or Graph API integrations
• Strong Oracle / relational database knowledge
• Exposure to front-office trading environments
