Your new role

We are looking for a Project Manager / PM Support to help manage software development projects for a large-scale e-commerce platform. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, engineers, and QA teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the planning and management of software development projects
• Define project scope, goals, timelines, and deliverables with stakeholders
• Coordinate communication between business teams, product managers, engineers, and QA teams
• Track project progress and ensure milestones are met
• Identify risks and issues and support problem-solving
• Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders
• Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets
• Work with QA teams to ensure quality standards are met

What you'll need to succeed

Requirements

• At least 3 years of software development project management experience
• Experience acting as the main Project Manager, including planning, driving, and monitoring projects
• Proven experience delivering software development projects successfully
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience working closely with engineers, product managers, business stakeholders, and QA teams
• Experience using Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence, and Microsoft Office [Rakuten PM JD | Word]

Technical Knowledge

Experience or knowledge in any of the following areas is preferred:

• E-commerce systems
• APIs
• Microservices
• CMS platforms
• Payment gateways
• Search engines [Rakuten PM JD | Word]

Nice to Have

• PMP or other project management certifications
• Previous experience as a Software Developer
• Product Management knowledge
• Experience operating the internet or online services
• Experience working directly with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders [Rakuten PM JD | Word]

Language Requirement

• Japanese: Daily Conversation Level, N3 to N2 equivalent
