Your new company A global financial services organization providing banking, capital markets, investment, and securities services to institutional clients worldwide.

Your new role A long-term transformation initiative focused on modernizing a trade processing and settlement platform used within a global markets environment.

The project involves building new interfaces, modernizing reporting processes, and implementing a new back-office product. The successful candidate will work on a large-scale modernization program leveraging Java, APIs, ETL technologies, and microservices architecture while integrating with existing legacy systems.

This is a highly visible project where the organization will be among the first in the industry to deploy the new platform.

• Develop and maintain Java applications and microservices
• Design and implement REST and SOAP APIs
• Build and support ETL/data integration processes
• Integrate new applications with existing trading and settlement systems
• Participate in technical design discussions and architecture reviews
• Conduct unit testing and support integration testing
• Perform code reviews and promote development best practices
• Collaborate with global teams across Tokyo and offshore locations
• Support business-as-usual applications when required
• Contribute to CI/CD and continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

• 5+ years of professional Java development experience
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+ and Spring Boot
• Experience developing RESTful and SOAP APIs
• Hands-on experience with ETL or data integration technologies
• Strong SQL and database development skills
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevSecOps practices
• Fluent English communication skills
