Equmenopolis, founded in May 2022 as a spin-off from Waseda University's Conversational AI Media Research Group, is developing "LANGX," a natural conversation-based English learning experience platform that incorporates the latest generative AI-powered conversational agents.

LANGX has been officially introduced into Waseda University's English conversation classes from 2023. In March 2023, it was also the only finalist from East Asia to present at the "SXSW EDU Launch," an educational startup pitch competition at the global creative event SXSW (South by Southwest), gaining worldwide recognition.

With the expansion of our service, we are now recruiting teammates to innovate the future of language education together. Our team consists of members with diverse backgrounds, ranging from multimodal dialogue systems, natural language processing, second language acquisition, learning sciences, digital humans, quantum computing to media art. While the company's roots are in Tokyo, our team members come from various countries including Japan, the US, Wales, Spain, Poland, and Cambodia.

Main Responsibilities The MLOps/Machine Learning Engineer will collaborate with research scientists to design and implement an MLOps platform that efficiently manages the machine learning model development cycle. This includes streamlining data collection and annotation, managing training and evaluation, and automating deployment and monitoring. The role also involves implementing lightweight and fast model inference.

We value experience in designing, building, and implementing machine learning workflows, constructing CI/CD pipelines for stable machine learning model deployment, and designing and implementing machine learning APIs.

Required Qualifications And Skills

Practical experience in many of the following areas:

• Designing, building, and implementing machine learning workflows
• Building CI/CD pipelines for stable machine learning model deployment
• Practical experience in designing and implementing machine learning APIs

Communication And Management Abilities

Japanese (professional level)

• Ability to actively communicate within and outside the team for smooth communication
• Capability to make proposals, engage in discussions, and execute projects in DevOps
• Ability to advance projects with schedule awareness
• Ability to develop customer-first products

Preferred Experience And Achievements

• Practical experience with cloud services
• Specialized knowledge and implementation experience in AI
• Experience in learning English conversation
