Monitoring Engineer

The Monitoring Lead is the regional owner of proactive monitoring, issue detection, analysis, and operational coordination across the digital workplace environment. This role focuses on identifying emerging user experience issues, performing root cause analysis, coordinating remediation efforts, and maintaining the overall health of the end-user computing estate.

Role and Responsibilities

Monitor enterprise desktop, laptop, and VDI environments during regional operating hours.

Review dashboards, alerts to identify potential service degradation before users are impacted.

Investigate performance issues, application instability, login delays, device health and user experience.

Perform root cause analysis and correlate findings across multiple data sources.

Assess business impact and determine appropriate remediation actions, including user outreach, operational intervention, or engineering escalation.

Identify recurring issues, operational risks, and systemic weaknesses within the desktop environment.

Produce regional health reports, operational summaries, and trend analysis.

Support incident investigations, outage management, and change impact assessments.

Required Qualifications:

5 years of experience in Infrastructure support or Monitoring support.

Strong working knowledge of Windows, MacOS, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.

Experience in enterprise monitoring, observability, analytics.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Experience performing root cause analysis and trend identification using operational data.

Ability to communicate technical findings effectively to operational and business stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills:

Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, SolarWinds

Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)

Active Directory

Endpoint performance analysis

Incident analysis and problem management

Data interpretation and trend analysis
