Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced PHP/Laravel Lead Engineer to support the modernization of a large-scale admin platform. This role will lead backend API development efforts, provide technical guidance to engineers, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery within an Agile environment. The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on development expertise with leadership capabilities and a passion for delivering scalable, maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead backend development initiatives using PHP and Laravel.
- Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs leveraging existing architecture and development standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development team members.
- Review technical solutions and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical discussions.
- Write and maintain unit tests to support application stability and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Monitor development progress and ensure timely delivery of assigned features.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and engineering practices.
Technical Skills
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience developing applications with PHP and Laravel.
- Proven experience building and maintaining REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and backend system design.
- Experience with unit testing and code quality practices.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong understanding of version control systems such as Git.
Leadership Skills
- Experience leading engineers or technical initiatives.
- Ability to provide technical direction and coaching.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate work across multiple team members while maintaining delivery quality.
Language Requirements
- Professional-level English communication skills.
