PHP Engineer | Tokyo, Japan
We are looking for a PHP Engineer to join a growing engineering team in Tokyo. This role is ideal for developers who enjoy building scalable web applications, developing backend services, and working in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using PHP
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and backend services
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and security
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Requirements
- Experience developing applications with PHP
- Knowledge of frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CakePHP
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases
- Understanding of REST APIs and software design principles
- Experience with Git and modern development workflows
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js
- Japanese language skills are a plus but not always required
