Python Developer - Buy-Side - Tokyo

About the Role:

My client is seeking a Python Developer to join a buy-side firm in Tokyo. This role offers a balanced blend of software development and production support, with approximately 50% dedicated to each. You will develop robust solutions and ensure smooth operation of trading systems critical to our business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance Python-based trading and analytics tools
• Maintain and support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability
• Collaborate with quants, traders, and engineers to deliver effective solutions
• Automate workflows and improve system monitoring and alerting
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis

Requirements:

• 2 to 10 years of experience in Python development
• Experience in production support or operational roles is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills in English or Japanese
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
