Position Overview

As a Backend Engineer, you will design, develop, and operate our cloud-based energy platform and related services.

You will collaborate with an international engineering team where English is the primary working language. Japanese language is not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based backend services
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture design, implementation, testing, and deployment
• Improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Reduce technical debt and continuously enhance existing systems
• Build, operate, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
• Improve development workflows through automation and engineering best practices
• Conduct code reviews and support other engineers

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience developing web applications using C# and ASP.NET Core
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs
• Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server
• Experience using Entity Framework Core or similar ORM frameworks
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles
• Experience developing applications on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
• Experience implementing automated testing
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Strong English communication skills for software development
• Japanese language skills are not required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure infrastructure design and Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, or CQRS
• Experience with frontend technologies such as React
• Ability to independently research and learn from English technical documentation
