As a book agent, I have been bridging Japan and the world through introducing foreign books to Japanese publishers. Not only supporting Japanese publishers license translation rights from English-language publishers and agents, we also assusit western language publishers license Japanese books. As an agent, I have flied to number of bookfairs since 2016, and built strong relationship with many business partners (agents, rights department staff, editors, and sometimes authors), in Korea, China, Taiwan, UK, US, Spain, and other territories.

After taking maternity leave twice (2022 and 2024), I am working on short hours (9 to 16) and work remotely 3 days a week.

• Acquire latest information on new books through emails or through meetings.
• Read manuscripts and pitch to publishers who may wish to license those books either through physical meetings or online meetings.
• Compile and present the terms of the offer accurately to ensure there are no errors in amounts or figures, and negotiate to obtain the rights holder's consent.
• Review the contract and negotiate amendments to ensure that both parties reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
