Skippers Coliving is a boutique coliving hotel and pizzeria (House of Woodfired) on the Kenyan coast. As a triple-bottom-line (3BL) business, social impact is central to what we do.
We're launching a digital impact programme, designed to build digital literacy and opportunity for students and teachers while creating meaningful stories that connect our guests, volunteers, and wider community to the work.
This role is the engine of that programme. You'll be the person on the ground at the schools, with the students, coordinating volunteers, and capturing the content that brings the story to life.
The RoleWe need a structured, self-starting programme coordinator who can own the delivery of our digital impact programme from end to end.
You'll be on-site at schools regularly, working directly with teachers and students, while also coordinating the involvement of hotel guests and volunteers.
You'll capture content (video, audio, photos) and work with our content posting VA and a separate PR/marketing person who will turn your raw material into media coverage and features.
You're not expected to be a marketing professional but you do need to be comfortable on and behind a camera, and organised enough to keep a steady flow of quality content moving.
The role - Programme Delivery
- Be on-site at schools regularly to deliver and support the digital impact programme
- Guide teachers and students through digital tools and sessions, you need to be comfortable with technology and patient with people who are learning
- Define programme plans with clear milestones and execute against them
- Track progress, measure outcomes, and report back to the founder with structured updates
The role - Co-ordination and stakeholder management
- Coordinate hotel guests and volunteers who want to contribute to the programme — scheduling, briefing, and ensuring their time is well used
- Manage the relationship with the school: teachers, administration, and parents
- Communicate proactively with the founder and wider team, flag issues before they become problems
The role - Content
- Capture video and audio interviews with students, teachers, and volunteers
- Take photos and gather stories that document the programme's impact
- Organise and share raw content with our content posting VA in a structured, timely way
- Support the PR/marketing person with material for media features and podcast appearances
About you - Required
- Degree in Development Studies, Community Development, or a closely related field from a recognised Kenyan or international university
- 2–3 years' experience working with NGOs, development organisations, or community-based organisations in a programme delivery or coordination role
- Strong project management skills, you can define a plan, break it into tasks, and execute against deadlines without being chased
- Computer literate and confident guiding others through digital tools and troubleshooting basic tech issues
- Comfortable conducting and being part of video and audio interviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Self-starting and able to work independently as well as clearly communicate with stakeholders
- Based on or near the Kenyan coast, or willing to relocate
About you - Nice to have
- Experience designing or delivering digital literacy or education programmes
- Background in teaching, training, or facilitation
- Content creation skills (video production, photography, audio recording)
- Familiarity with project management tools (Trello, Clickup, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Experience coordinating volunteers or community engagement activities
- Interest in hospitality, social enterprise, or triple-bottom-line business models

Salary: 50,000-70,000 KES gross monthly, dependent on experience.
