About The Role
Reporting to the CDW Project officer with technical guidance from the CDW Project Coordinator, the Project Interns are primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of the project activities aimed at ensuring the targeted indicators and project outputs are achieved. The role also includes day-to-day timely, quality, successfully and accurately implementing, monitoring, and reporting of the project. Specifically, the project interns will support the delivery of project activities at the community level in line with ICS SP programming guidelines, policies, project plans, and donor requirements.
Key Areas Of Responsibilities
Project Implementation Support
- Support implementation of project activities at the community level in line with approved plans
- Assist in organizing trainings for parents, children, and community structures and work closely with Community Facilitators (CFs) and mentors to support delivery of sessions
- Support day-to-day coordination of activities within the assigned sub-county, like review meetings with CFs, mentors, stakeholders’ meetings and community awareness sessions.
- Ensure timely communication between field teams and program staff
- Support tracking of project activities and progress at the community level, including follow-ups with CFs, mentors, and project participants to ensure sessions are delivered as planned
- Assist in identifying and reporting any challenges or gaps in implementation
- Support data collection and verification during field visits, including updating beneficiary and activity data
- Support preparation of activity reports and field updates
- Assist in compiling monthly reports from CFs and mentors
- Maintain proper records of activities, attendance, and beneficiary data
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and key observations
- Document feedback from the field to improve implementation
- Support stakeholder engagement at the sub-county level, including schools and local leaders
- Assist in organizing and participating in community meetings and dialogues
- Maintain regular communication with community structures to support project activities
- Support follow-up of identified children in collaboration with CFs and mentors
- Assist in tracking referrals and linkages to services
- Report any child protection concerns to the Project Coordinator/ Safeguarding lead
- Support the MEAL Coordinator and researchers to conduct field visits, collect and analyze data to improve project approaches and interventions.
- Assist in organizing materials and logistics for trainings and field activities
- Support coordination of venues, attendance, and materials distribution
- Graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Development Studies, Social Sciences or Related Discipline).
- Strong written and spoken English and Swahili language.
- High motivation, flexibility, and intercultural sensitivity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team.
- Demonstrated experience in community work, NGO programming, or a related field.
