AG&E is an international structural engineering firm headquartered in Dallas, TX. Founded in 2004, AG&E has 9 offices across the US and international offices in India and Brazil. We are searching for a Structural Project Engineer to join our team in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, TX.

Position Summary

Candidate must possess significant experience in the design and documentation of complex medium to large building structures for commercial, institutional, mission critical, educational, aviation, or healthcare projects. The position requires management of design team members and collaboration with Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Associate Principals, and Principals in the delivery of projects, including project documentation and calculations. Supervisory responsibilities will vary by project.

This role includes direct client interaction and offers strong potential for career advancement and development.

Key Responsibilities

Technical

  • Perform work under direction of the licensed professional engineer stamping the project
  • Manage other design professionals as assigned
  • Perform structural analysis and design
  • Perform structural detailing with assistance from senior engineers
  • Be responsible for all technical aspects of assigned tasks and projects
  • Assist in selection of materials and structural systems
  • Coordinate structural design with other disciplines
  • Deliver documentation and calculations on schedule and budget
  • Provide construction administration support including RFIs and submittals
  • Perform site observations and prepare reports
  • Conduct peer reviews and improve processes
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously

Supervisory
  • Assist in developing project work plans and budgets
  • Assist in managing team workload
  • Assist in leading design work sessions
  • Assist in directing design team members
  • Support leadership in performance evaluations

Client Liason
  • Attend client meetings
  • Document meeting discussions

Business Development
  • Build relationships with external contacts
  • Attend networking events and industry functions
  • Assist in pursuit efforts and interviews

Qualifications

Education

  • BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis), required
  • MS preferred
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience
  • PE license required
  • SE license preferred

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of building codes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented with problem-solving ability
