About

I'm a diligent person who utilizes my extensive skill set to support organizational missions. Maintains composure in challenging environments and requires minimal supervision to stay productive. I have worked in a position that requires me to constantly engage customers and different people to get work done.

Experience

Harvest Officer April 2022 - present

Komaza Forestry limited

I'm a team lead in my current role. I lead a team of two, a chainsaw operator and his assistant. I oversee a felling site, making sure the team gets to work on time, doing a morning briefing everyday, where I assign roles to team members for the day.

I do a hazard assessment of the site everyday, farmer engagement, ensuring felling is properly done, sizing trees according to required specifications, taking data of the logs and ensuring proper loading. I also hire a team of eight or more casuals everyday to help with loading of the logs. I also put in motion the farmer payment process my submitting farmer reciept and following up with admin.

My greatest task is to oversee each person's safety when they are on site. There are targets for every team and I lead my team into achieving them everyday.

I also conduct employee reviews on my team every six months, ensuring they receive constructive feedback.

Evaluation officer Sept 2022 - Dec 2022

Komaza Forestry limited

As an evaluation officer, my main duty was to purchase trees for the company. It involved starting by getting leads on farmers who are willing to sell or sometimes approaching ones with mature eucalyptus trees. After finding one, I would give them a value proposition for their trees.

Once they accept I would go ahead do a marking on the trees that fit the standard, while entering each tree circumference into the company data system called Survey CTO. It generates a price for the total trees which I would give to the farmer. If they were okay with the price we would further move on to contract signing to allow harvest teams to move into the site.

This position involved strict targets which I met every week.
