I have over nineteen (19) years’ experience in risk management, audit, strategy, forensics, financial management and control, compliance, internal control assessments, fraud investigation and accountancy. I am currently Audit & Risk Advisory Partner at Risk Quatum Fin, a boutique audit and risk advisory firm, a position I have held since April 2023. Prior to that, I served as the Head of Risk, Audit & Legal at Savannah Cement Limited.
Limited, being part of Senior Management team, I succeeded in designing and guiding the operationalization of the company’s internal controls and processes, risk management and corporate governance framework since inception of Savannah. Before joining Savannah in January 2012, I was the Head of Group Internal Audit for Industrial Promotion Services (IPS) (K) Ltd, a capital venture private company with over 30 subsidiaries within East Africa (in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Mauritius, Congo, and Rwanda). Prior to joining IPS I worked with KPMG East Africa as Audit & Risk Advisory Senior for about 4 years.
My experience at KPMG was drawn from banks and financial services sector, consumer and industrial markets, and public sector and development. I have worked in many countries in Eastern Africa.
I hold an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from USIU-Africa where I graduated with a GPA of 3.95 / 4.0 being the second highest GPA in the MBA graduating class of 2018. I am a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) (K), Certified Public Secretary of Kenya (CPS) (K), Certified Forensic Investigation Professional (CFIP) and a holder of a Bachelors of Law degree (LL.B) (Second Class Honors- Upper) from the University of Nairobi. I also hold a PGD (Post-Graduate Diploma) in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
I am a person of high integrity, dynamic, proactive and good interpersonal skills. I have a high level of initiative and excellent analytical, teamwork and people management skills. I am proficient in use of audit, risk and data analysis tools including TeamMate Audit Software, Symbiant, ACL, IDEA, Caseware, Vector among others.
I have exceptional communication and computer application skills with high proficiency in several ERP’s including SAP, UFIDA, Ebiz ERP. I am a self-driven and result oriented person with a strong operational acumen and solid strategic understanding of the business environment.
