January, 2020 to Date: M&E Officer at ONYX, (Global Fund Program –NFMIII Grant)
Responsibility Summary
- Provide technical M&E support to the program/Facility staff on program M&E Framework, data management and analysis, and reporting systems
- Ensure implementation of M&E tools, ensuring quality reporting, monitoring of outcomes and continuous performance improvement by undertaking and implementing program activities appropriately.
- Take lead in learning and reflection of activities to improve program quality, monitor results and impact, share lessons learned, best practices and ensure that accountability and other cross-cutting issues are adequately incorporated into project M&E activities.
- Provide mentorship and capacity building to Staff and Level one health care workers on the M&E Activities based on their needs
- Ensure that SOPs and guidelines for data management and data quality assurance in line with national and international policies are adhered to during implementation
- Take lead in reporting and analysis, ensuring timely compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual data reports and in documenting success cases
- Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality control (QA/QC) measures in place are implemented and quality maintained in all the strategies/interventions in accordance with national guidelines, project guidelines and ONYX standard operating procedures and practice
- Represent the project/ONYX in government and partner forums within the region and ensure quality Community reports to DHIS are submitted in time
August, 2017 to September, 2019: Regional Data Officer at Hope Worldwide (KP PEPFAR Program Central and Lower Eastern Regions)
Responsibilities
The key duties included but not limited to;
Technical Support and Capacity Building on MEAL purpose;
- Responsible in Training and mentoring project staff in using relevant M&E tools and ensure adherence to the tools for reporting.
- Develop capacity of regional staff and other strategic partners on the program M&E framework, data management, and data analysis and results‐oriented programming, M&E methods and principles and reporting systems.
- Promote learning through documentation of lessons learned and developing approaches for analysis and utilization of data for decision-making in the organization
- Ensure quality of program implementation, monitoring and data reported by regional sites through capacity building, technical supportive supervision, routine checking and regular validation of data.
Management of M&E Function;
- Ensure utilization of appropriate reporting templates that facilitate the acquisition and aggregation of data. Develop and maintain effective database at regional levels.
- Ensure ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting of progress in accordance with quality standards and donor requirements.
- Undertake regular visits to field locations to support monitoring and evaluation processes and develop and implement accountability processes related to the programme
- Assist in designing and regular updates on program MEAL guidelines and tools
Program Support, Learning and Accountability
- Undertake planned monitoring and technical support visits to sites to assess progress against agreed MEAL standards and indicators and recommend corrective actions as appropriate.
- Work with stakeholders to identify the processes that need improving and have the biggest impact on the project
- Work with the regional program coordinator to ensure that the project implementation is efficient and effective
- Coordinate on the learning generated from the project and give upward advice to the Management for decision making and cross learning.
- Support the development and implementation of project log frames, plans, and M&E plans for target achievement among the Regional sites while ensuring compliance with program guidelines, budget and performance framework.
- Perform data analysis and present and disseminate information to inform program improvement at regional level
Management of M&E Information Systems
- Preparation analysis and uploading of information to the MIS (3PM, DATIM & DHIS2) and ensure the accuracy of the data and files being uploaded
- Conduct data Collation and Processing using Epi info and R language
- Oversee the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and guidelines for data management and data quality assurance in line with organization and donor policies, to ensure a cohesive approach to data quality.
- Regularly back up and archive data and information for organization
- Ensure the EMR system has been implemented in all the supported sites. Run SQL and installation and IQCare configuration
Program Data Collection Reporting and Management
- Train staff on data collection tools and equipment, Implement, and enforce proper data collection policies and procedures
- Perform and document procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, standardization and analysis ensuring data management procedures and projects have set timelines and meet established deadliness
- Routinely Manage data, including data cleaning and entry in the MIS platform to ensure completeness and quality
- Timely Review, submission and promptly provision of constructive feedback to the regional sites organizing site supportive visits and mentorship on the same
- Collate and consolidate quality monitoring data in a timely manner and organize data received for reporting to the Program Coordinator and M&E Manager.
- Compile Monthly, quarterly and annual reports, documenting project progress and highlighting positive and problem areas of the project highlighting project/program outputs, success cases in the project areas, highlighting areas for improvement of the project
May, 2017 – July, 2017: Program Coordinator at Hope Worldwide Kenya, Naivasha
This position is responsible for achieving all the HCBC, PMTCT, GP and any other targets allocated to the project in accordance with the project M&E plan/Framework and ensures the goal and objectives of the project are met. Other responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Provide mentorship to CHVs, volunteers and part timers working in the project. Conduct needs assessments to identify capacity gaps among CHVs and priority populations and address them
- Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality control (QA/QC) measures are in place implemented and quality maintained in all the strategies/interventions in accordance with national guidelines, project guidelines and HWWK standard operating procedures and practice
- Represent the project/HWWK in government and partner forums within the region and ensure quality reports to national bodies are submitted in time
- Compile quality regional narrative, data reports and support documents and submit them to the supervisor within the set deadlines and formats
July, 2015 – April, 2017: Data Management Assistant/Receptionist at HOPE Worldwide Kenya, Gilgil wellness Center, under M&E department unit. Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of the Global Fund/ New Funding Model project.
- Coordinate data, keep clear and high-quality record of all Key populations (KPs) receiving services at the center as well as Stock inventory
- Assist in Admin Roles, preparation of budgets and work plans.
- Provide M&E and data management support to other DICE staff and at field.
- Assist in coordinating outreaches, and to offer technical support to the Peer Educators and other staff.
- Carry out field activities, data analysis and processing used during programming and implementation of the program.
- Compile good quality, narrative and data reports and submit them to the supervisor within the set deadlines and formats.
- Identify capacity gaps among priority/ KPs and provision of documentation of processes, challenges and lessons learned at the wellness center for purposes of programming

March – June, 2015: Data Assistant at
HOPE Worldwide Kenya, Nakuru wellness Center, M&E Department.
Duties;
- Assist in the implementation of the Global Fund Round 10 programme.
- Data Management; data review and verification, data entry and cleaning, data analysis and compilation of reports
- Assist in developing and maintaining the database and maintenance of filing system
- Maintain updated monthly and quarterly project data base, cohort register, M&E summary.
September, 2014 – January, 2015: Volunteered as a data management assistant at
Family AIDS Initiative Response (FAIR), USAID Funded Project, under M&E department, assisting in compilation of monthly reports, data keeping and record keeping, data analysis, clerical work, updating the project database and performing any other duties assigned to.
January – August, 2014: Served as a Program intern at Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS), South Rift Region, at the Global Fund Office and have been actively involved in the HIV Global Fund Round 10 Programme performing the following duties; report writing, M&E duties, monitoring visits & data management, Office & clerical work, Finance and administration duties and participation in the OSDV & RDQA.

- Competency with a statistical database such as EPI Info, SPSS, Excel and R Language
