Position: Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance Intern
Duration: June to September 2022.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting network configuration and troubleshooting of fiber networks.
- Performing maintenance tasks for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) connections.
- Proactively identifying and resolving network issues to ensure uninterrupted service for customers.
- Raising alarms and communicating as the Network Operations Center (NOC) department to coordinate response and dispatch BTS (Base Transceiver Station) technicians when necessary.
- Executing scheduled maintenance activities for Safaricom BTSs (Base Transceiver Stations) to optimize network performance.
- Contributed to the planning and design department at Adrian Kenya LTD, where we designed the entire network infrastructure from scratch.
- Presenting network designs for approval and coordinating with implementation teams for seamless execution.
- Conducting research on emerging telecommunication technologies and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Documenting network configurations and preparing reports on network performance.

Position: Street Light Maintenance Intern
Duration: June to September 2021.
Key responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting raised alarms for street light maintenance and ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues to maintain proper illumination across the city.
- Installing new street lighting infrastructure in various parts of the city, contributing to enhanced safety and visibility for residents and motorists.
- Collaboration with team members to plan and execute street light maintenance schedules, ensuring consistent functionality and minimizing downtime.
- Conducting thorough inspections and assessments of street lighting systems to identify faults, damages, or areas requiring improvements.
