Second-year BSc Computer Science student at Egerton University (graduating 2028), building a data engineering career from scratch. I have independently built seven end-to-end portfolio projects covering the full modern data stack Python ETL pipelines, PostgreSQL, Apache Airflow, dbt, web scraping, Apache Kafka streaming, and Docker.
My work is grounded in real Kenyan context: M-Pesa transactions, Nairobi weather data, and Kenyan job market data. Targeting entry-level Data Engineer and MLOps roles in Nairobi.
No formal employment history, but seven self-built portfolio projects demonstrate hands-on engineering ability.
These include: a Python ETL pipeline processing 3M+ NYC Taxi records into PostgreSQL; a live Nairobi Weather Pipeline with Airflow scheduling and XCom; a dbt data warehouse with 8 passing data quality tests; a Kenya Jobs Pipeline scraping BrighterMonday daily via automated Task Scheduler; and a Kafka Streaming Pipeline simulating real-time M-Pesa transactions achieving 20.83ms average latency with zero failures.
