I am a passionate musician, with a proven track record of delivery. I have been teaching music for over twenty years, and I have a wealth of knowledge and experience, borne from the different institutions I have worked at.
I have extensive experience in developing and implementing teaching strategies to support student growth and development, while ensuring that learner goals are set, purposeful and achievable. Each pupil brings their own unique qualities and ideas to the classroom, and I view everyone of them as a musician in their own right.
Having taught from Early years and beyond year 13, following the British Curriculum, I value the larger community of Parents and Guardians who play a very important role in ensuring that music, and the love of music, is carried on not only in school, but at home.
I have been working for 24 years in international schools, starting with Cavina School. Braeburn school was next on the cards for me, as music and games teacher, followed by Brookhouse school, with a start up in BTEC music.
I had a new time at Braeburn, Heading the Music department, and working in the sports department as well.
I had an opportunity to teach IB in United World Colleges, Moshi, for a short while, then Braeburn for maternity cover.
During these years, I have had training in Child Protection, Middle management and Music Education Development, as well as First Aid.
Primary Education was in Hospital Hill, which served as the foundation of my music training.
Secondary education encouraged me to pursue music, as the only student in my year group, leading to my selection as one of the few music students in Kenyatta University.
