I am a Remote Software Engineer at BirdLife International, a global partnership of conservation organizations that strives to conserve birds, their habitats, and global biodiversity. I joined the organization in Jul 2022, after working as a Fullstack Developer at Tanaflow and a Co-Founder of a tech startup.

I have a degree in Geospatial Information Science and Remote Sensing from DEDAN KIMATHI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY (DeKUT), where I learned how to apply computer engineering and geospatial analysis to solve real-world problems. I use my skills and knowledge to develop robust, scalable, and user-friendly web applications using Node(Express), React, contextapi, and MongoDB. I also manage and update Linux servers and PHP legacy code systems, following DevOps principles and best practices. I write unit, integration, and e2e tests using Storybook and unit-test, and containerize projects using Docker. I collaborate with my colleagues through daily code reviews and pair programming, and mentor them through feature documentation, workshops, and company-wide product demos.
