Project: Volunteered at Kenyatta National Hospital

Responsibilities

• Biomedical waste management.
• Pest control strategies within and outside the hospital.
• Occupational health and safety matters in and outside the hospital.
• Monitoring and evaluation on infection prevention and control standards within the different departments of the hospital.
• Conducted food inspections in the hospital kitchen and conducted routine inspections of water quality.
• Provided basic first aids to patients at the Accidents and Emergency section.
• Carried out Ebola sensitization of the health workers. Ebola specimen collection and transportation. Donning and doffing of Ebola PPEs.
• Wrote recommendations on the inspected premises in the hospital and departments for safety measures where applicable.
