2021 July 1st: Ongoing at Watu Africa 

Portfolio Quality Officer 

Working as a Portfolio Quality Officer, for the last year and a half brings a wealth of experience.

In my current role, I am tasked with duties such as;

Monitoring and control of assigned Asset Finance Portfolio using Company software, developing and strengthening clients’ relationships, regularly updating clients on Company policies and new products, following up on phone calls with overdue clients to ensure debtor’s accounts are up to date and in case of clients overdue, identifying and implementing the most efficient debt recovery methods and techniques among other assigned duties.

This has brought with it the skill of quick creativity and innovative thinking while enhancing patience and communication skills whilst dealing with clients.

2021 Apr. 3rd - June 30th: Compassion Kenya

Computer skills tutor

As a tutor with compassion Kenya, I was taked with;

• Training of class 8 and form four leavers on basic computer skills (typing, connectivity of devices)
• Training on Ms Office packages (Word, Excel, Access and Power point)
• Training on Internet usage and assisting in connecting the teenage children to their donors via a tailor-made social media application.

This created the passion and zeal to do more for the society as it was so fulfilling to volunteer for this noble task. It enhance my value for giving back, enhanced my communication skills and also gave me the requisite organization and planning skills as I planned and prepared for lessons.

2021 Jan. 18th - Mar. 30th: Shalin Gor & Co. Audit Firm

Audit Intern

This was my most challenging yet exciting phase of my career journey so far. It necessitated accurate recall of accounting lessons studied in school and also constant updating of one’s knowledge of tax policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Some of the tasks included;

• Book keeping 
• Maintaining and recording clients' transactions and receipts
• Tax recording and filing
• Prepare annual financial reports and audit reports for tax purposes and business management to clients
• Ensure compliance with KRA regulations.
• Assist in record keeping and filing

This brought with it the enhancement of proper organizational skills, sharp focus and time consciousness as I had to meet deadlines and work within the given time frames for optimal customer satisfaction.

2019 Aug. 20th – Nov. 19th: Travellers Beach Hotel & Resort

Accounts Intern

This was my first internship and had just joined the professional field working in a very friendly and enlightening environment. I was tasked with the following duties;

• Reconciling guests attendance and arrival reports
• Invoicing and payments to suppliers and vendors.
• VAT and Withholding Tax computation
• Financial reports generation
• Internal Audit and reporting

This truly made me appreciate the accounting procedures of recording and also interact with the tax world on a corporate level. It enhance my understanding of various accounting principles

2018 Apr. – 2019 June: Kiddie World Kenya

Events planner and co-ordinator

This was my side hustle and my upkeep providing hustle while in campus. I ran a business providing gaming services while in campus. The money coming from this hustle. It was an eye opener and made me fall in love with the business world. Duties assigned to me included but not limited to the following.

• Events planning and resource management
• Maintained accounts for tax purposes
• Child caretaker, party hyping, MC'ing among other duties assigned

The above work experiences have made me have the zeal to learn more and better myself. This passionate, easily teachable and team player attitude is just but part of what I bring to the table.
