Undertaking validation of land ownership, boundaries, and legal status of land parcels in 37 selected Centres within Kisii County. The exercise is expected to demarcate centre Boundaries, confirm land Ownership, validate plot allotment Status, Update Land Records and determine discrepancies related to land ownership or boundaries through proper investigation and verification.
The exercise will also provide advisory centre Scheme Plans that may guide future land use planning and development, cadastral surveying of plots in the centre and surrounding areas and subsequently enabling tenure security within the specific selected centre.
- I assisted in Identifying, demarcating and monumenting the boundaries of each centre with the county and community leaders to prevent disputes and conflicts over land encroachment.
- Validated the legal right or title within the centre boundary held by either individuals, organizations, or government agencies and therefore updating Land Records:
- I verified the rightful allottees of land parcels by crossreferencing land records, allotments, deeds, and any other legal and transactional documents. (Validating plot allotment)
- Updated land registries and databases for the selected centre; through scanning and digitization of existing RIMs, Development plans and Centre Scheme Plans, undertake digital mapping of each centre and develop accurate and current information about land ownership, boundaries, and transactions.
