Godfrey Karugu is a clinical officer experienced in clinical management of patients, blending health with community development work for improved individual, household, and community health outcomes with a keen interest in research having been involved in development and validation of an in house phenotypic Assay data for the determination of HIV-1 drug resistance among patients taking 2nd line treatment of ARVs in
Kenya.
He has over 4 years’ experience working, leading, and providing Clinical Pediatric, Adolescent and Adult HIV/TB services as well as management of Community HIV and child health programs in Kenya’s urban, informal settlements and rural communities. Currently, as the Head of medical department Children of God Relief Institute ( Nyumbani ) USAID funded Lea Toto Project in Nairobi City.
He takes pride in being collaborative with his coworkers, can delegate as needed, to ensure the teams objectives are met , diligent, conscientious and solution oriented while dealing with problems/conflicts, focused, driven and patient-oriented. Proficiency in Interpersonal Relations, Public Speaking, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
He hold a Diploma in clinical medicine for Egerton University. Currently he is undertaking Bachelors of science in community health and development. He holds Certificates in HIV management from NASCOP, Fundamental of digital research, policy advocacy and development,ART- cohort analysis, National HIV monitoring and evaluation tools.
