DIETICIAN AND NUTRITION OFFICER (VOLUNTARY) at SIO PORT SUB-COUNTY HOSPITAL (BUSIA) (2014-09 – 2019-02)

• Updating CWC registers and CHANIS
• Growth monitoring in infants/babies and pregnant mothers
• Taking dietary assessments invalids and convalescents i.e anthropometric measures
• Nutritional counseling to invalids/ convalescents' pregnant and lactating mothers and elderly
• Application to RUTF and F.F to PEM affected babies as per recommendations i.e SAM and MAM
• Immunization application to babies and pregnant mothers i.e Vitamin A, Folic acid etc.
• General nutrition review to inpatient, PEM and patient with lifestyle complications such as hyper/hypoglycemia, blood pressure, overweight/underweight, obesity etc.
• Outreach nutritional education at community levels i.e in Bazaas under sub-county nutritionist supervisory
• Giving ORS and Zinc tabs to gastroenteritis babies and roselmol to PEM affected babies
• Deworming of babies by mebendazole and albendazole supplementation and general medical talk to patients and caregivers. etc

• Ensuring the laboratory is well equipped and stocked with all apparatus
• Performing laboratory test in order to produce reliable and precise results/data to support scientific investigations
• Preparation of all students laboratory test for CATs and Final Exams
• Using computers and performing Mathematical Calculations for the preparation of exams
• Preparing Specimens and Samples
• Constructing, Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipments for example centrifuges, titration, pipetting machines and PH meters.
