Legal Recovery Officer at Musoni Capital Limited (2026-01 – Present)

I work as the company's Legal Recovery Officer, where I handle a legacy portfolio of about one hundred and forty clients. I represent the company in debt-recovery suits at the Small Claims courts. This way, the company only outsources external counsel in much more complex matters.

I have also represented the company in a personal injury claim against it at the Employment and Labor Relations Court. I call clients to follow up on debt repayments. I have consequently facilitated successful negotiations with clients that have resulted in the restructuring of loans and consents.

Since

January 2026, I have procured the recovery of Kenya Shillings Four Hundred and Ninety-Two Thousand and Forty-Four (Kshs. 492,044). I have also assisted in the drafting and review of an asset-financing contract. I renegotiated a few clauses, thereby guiding the company executives to sign the contract after the adjustment of terms that would have been enforced to its detriment.

Virtual Internship at Bowmans (Nairobi) Coulson Harney LLP (2025-02 – 2025-02)

I completed the Kenya Commercial Law Job Simulation on Forage, an online simulation where I advised clients on Commercial Law issues, aided clients restructure their businesses, drafted necessary legal instruments including share transfers, statutory declarations and helped clients settle contract disputes. This was achieved through questions structured as real-life legal scenarios.

Legal Assistant at VM & A Advocates LLP (2024-09 – 2025-02)

I worked as the firm's Legal Assistant, where I provided support to four advocates by opening clients' files and preparing pleadings (Statements of Claim, verifying affidavits, witness statements, lists of witnesses and documents and subrogation forms) in preparation for Small Claims Insurance matters. I was tasked with printing out cause lists and preparing affidavits and certificates of service. I also delivered and picked documents from court registries and courier stations.

Furthermore, I was stationed shortly at the reception to receive clients. My role relieved the advocates of menial and repetitive tasks, enabling them to focus on matters that needed their utmost attention.

Pupil/Advocate Trainee at Odero Osiemo & Company Advocates (2024-02 – 2024-08)

I worked under the tutelage of an Advocate as a Pupil/Advocate Trainee, where I attended court sessions and took notes for the Advocate during proceedings. These helped him prepare for the examination of witnesses especially in cases where many parties had been impleaded, which ultimately resulted in the summoning of multiple witnesses. I was trained on legal drafting and research, the examination of witnesses and participated in initial client interviews.

Judicial Attachee at Milimani Law Courts (2022-05 – 2022-08)

I worked as a Judicial Attachee under the supervision of a magistrate and his court assistant. I attended court proceedings. I was tasked with legal research in preparation for the drafting of judgements and rulings. I also assisted the court assistant to organize and retrieve files prior to court proceedings.
