Hello,
My name is Ian Ndung’u Chege A fine artist and graphic design major who has actively being practicing design for about
5 years now. I tend to think of myself as a neo- minimalistic designer as most of my designs tend to lean towards minimalism and incorporate aspects of modern designs too.
Over the years, I would say I have developed a keen eye for detail in both illustration and design. Also, in font application. I wouldn’t refer to myself as a typographic artist but I do believe in my ability in using the correct font combination and the other variables that apply when using fonts such as weight and alignment.
I have an in-depth knowledge of the software I use while designing which are Adobe Illustrator,
InDesign and Photoshop, I also believe in my ability to work with others and in creative thinking..
As a member of the design team, my primary focus was on brand identity and package design. I played a crucial role in shaping and establishing the visual representation of the brand and ensuring that it resonated with the company's core values and target audience. For brand identity, I worked closely with the marketing and management teams to understand the brand's essence, values, and positioning in the market.
Based on this information, I conceptualized and designed the brand's visual elements, such as the logo, typography, color palette, and imagery. I aimed to create a cohesive and recognizable visual identity that accurately reflected the brand's personality and differentiated it from competitors. In addition to brand identity, I also took responsibility for package design.
I collaborated with product managers and engineers to understand the product's features, benefits, and target market. Using this knowledge, I designed packaging that not only protected the product but also served as an effective marketing tool. I considered factors such as packaging materials, structural design, graphics, and labeling to create visually appealing and functional packages that enhanced the overall brand experience.
By working on brand identity and package design, I contributed to the overall success of the company by creating a strong and memorable brand image and packaging that attracted customers, communicated the brand's value, and ultimately contributed to the growth and recognition of the products in the market.
I am A Fine Art and Design student which basically involves creative and artistic activities, developing skills and knowledge in both fine arts and design disciplines. The exact curriculum and activities can vary depending on the specific program and institution
