Ian Katuku

Strathmore University's Electrical and Electronics Engineering student and Student Ambassador at IEEE AFRICON, the largest and most influential conference on African engineering and innovation. As an ambassador, I promote the conference's vision and objectives, recruit and engage potential participants and sponsors, and facilitate networking and collaboration among diverse stakeholders.

Passionate about using technology to address some of the world's most pressing issues: mental health, poverty alleviation, and access to education. Through my studies, I have gained a deep understanding of how technology can be harnessed to create innovative solutions to these challenges. I have also earned two Cisco certifications in IT Essentials and Networking Basics, demonstrating my technical proficiency and industry relevance.

In addition to my academic and professional pursuits, I am also involved in a number of mental health, poverty alleviation, and education-related initiatives. For example, I have volunteered at a local community center, providing tutoring and mentoring to underprivileged children and youth. I have also participated in research projects, exploring the impact of technology on mental health and well-being.

Through these experiences, I have developed my analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as my compassion and drive to make a positive impact.
