Impartial _idea

Hello, my name is Derrick Kabonyo, a masters student at MKU (Mount Kenya University) with a corporate communication degree from MMU (Multimedia University). I am, among many things, an Ai graphic designer and illustrator. Every now and again a revolutionary technology comes along that changes the face of an entire industry. Artificial Intelligence art/ Generative AI (the likes of Midjourney, DallE and Stable Diffusion) is the latest such. AI art has taken the world by storm in the last couple of months and is no doubt the future, especially for graphic and/or publishing departments and companies, and marketing as well as digital marketing departments and companies. It is something that will come sooner or later and would be better sooner for advantage and maybe even monopoly’s sake.

When generative AI came into the scene I took to learning it to add to my graphic skills. I perfected the skill and have been working with the above companies since this year. For some we are still negotiating contracts as I have a small Graphic design start-up company and some already have some of my works in circulation and in the process of working on more. AI is going to become the main player in graphic design and will increase efficiency of the process by 90% if not more. It is already doing so in revolutionary companies. It is only a matter of time.

I learnt most of my professional skills here. These include; marketing, advertisements, copywriting, graphic design, crisis management, communication, videography and research. In my four years in MMU I always stayed on top of my studies and never even once got a supplementary (retake) in my exams. I attained a Second-class honors, upper division.
