I am an executive BSC graduate in Animal Science who is hardworking and enjoys work. I am excellent at meeting deadlines having worked in a busy environment for the past three years. I am capable of animal production, treatment and proper farm management. Am conversant with management and feeding of all Range animals to produce profits and facilitate farm development.
Therefore, I would like to share my skills to the job industry as I improve my animal scientist skills rendering me more productive to the society.
I had supervisor roles of all activities that occurred at the restaurant such as management of hotel staff and attachment students. I also received and issued all restaurant payments to customers and suppliers. Requisition of all items required in the restaurant production process. Maintenance of the hotel equipment, bakery and machinery, ensuring they are all functional and operational. Issuing of stock to the hotel staff. Preparing registers and work schedules for the restaurant staff. Preparation of all the hotel records and filling activities.
Farm Management Practices such as Animal breeding, Feeds and feeding, Animal identification, Dehorning, Castration, Disease identification, Range management, Crop and pasture establishment, Animal by-products, Farm structures establishment, Artificial insemination, Farm bio-security, Semen extraction, Cleaning of farm structures, Feeds formulation, Animal by-products differentiation, Parasite control, Standard operating procedures and Proper animal welfare amongst others. Extension and research services, Biogas Production, Proper Laboratory procedures and Sales and marketing.
As an enumerator I was tasked to engage farmers across all the wards using questionnaires to establish the nature of aquaculture in the county. I had extension roles whereby I advised farmers on the best fish production methods, fishing, preparation of fish ponds, requirements of fish farming, types of fish ponds and fish diseases. Also I interacted with aquaculture products vendors to get the challenges they face and what they would like to be done to improve sales and marketing of the products. Finally, I reported everyday findings in a conclusive report to the county to culminate in the preparation of Kiambu County Aquaculture Blue Book.
In my four years at Egerton University Njoro, I have completed a great deal of coursework on animal production as an animal scientist where I have learned of various agricultural principles and new technologies in farming systems. Among them are Animal Nutrition, Feeds and Feeding, Production Economics, Basic Biochemistry, Agricultural Value Chain Analysis, Animal Diseases and core units of production in Beef, Poultry, and Dairy amongst others as. In addition, I was privileged to have my attachment session for three months in Kenya Animal Genetic Resources (KAGRC) where I was well trained and grounded in Bull production, Semen collection, and Artificial Insemination, Genomic selection of semen to complete my undergraduate studies.
I am well trained in use of computer to perform all processes to make work easier. Am conversant with use of Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint presentations, word processing and processing of dat using Microsoft excel. Also trained of using websites to make sales and marketing, create new emails and have a good knowledge of using computer to do studies and research.
