I have worked as an Admin and currently working as an Accountant i have managed to learn and acquired basic accounting skills and knowledge using SAGE, SAP and Paysoft. I am involved in;

• Passing Journals and payment voucher into the system for accounts payable. 
• Preparing cheques, bank transfers and payment document to different vendors and customers and ensuring the payments are correct and approved.
• Assisting in petty cash processing, requisition and payment for sites and for office maintenance and general audit of site expenses against the company expenditure.
• Ensuring all withholding Vat and daily payment are posted into the system.
• Account and bank reconciliation of payment for both accounts payable and accounts receivables. 
• Preparing monthly aged reports both debtors and creditors and analysis of TB to give analyses and proper balance sheet and P&L reports, plus doing daily cash flow report and submitting to the Finance Director.
•  Making of payment advice and account, bank and ledger reconciliation and computing of monthly VAT, withholding VAT returns, withholding TAX for subcontractors and foreign suppliers.
• Maintaining client books of account, Returns and to ensure account books and system are up to date. Keeping track of both credit and debit balances in the system.
• Filling of VAT and also payments of the withholding VAT and to ensure all payments are keyed in the system
• Preparing and making petty cash requisitions that are approved by the management and daily petty cash reconciliation.
• Ensure cash salaries and advances are paid to staff on time. Action cash requisitions from cost centres on a timely basis – as per the cash policy.
• Ensure that the total of petty cash on hand and vouchers for expenditure awaiting external supporting documents, balance to the Excel cash record and the Sage cash GL account at all times, and that cash float box is secure against theft.
• Processing Payroll which includes all deductions, loans, advance and any other payroll related entry
• Doing employment and termination of stuff and following up with stuff time cards, leave, absence and sick off and updating them on Paysoft.
• Calculating and preparing taxes as per the regulations and printing of P9 forms for employees.
• Prepare and promptly ensure all settlement of statutory and other payroll deduction i.e. PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, HELB for all employees. 
• Doing payroll reconciliations and passing payroll journals and working hand in hand with the HR department.
• Assisting in any other duties assigned to me by the finance manager.
