Jervis Asuma

I’m a dedicated Network Engineer with hands-on experience in configuring and managing network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. Skilled in LAN/WAN design, VPN setup, network troubleshooting, and monitoring tools like SNMP. I bring a strong foundation in cybersecurity, network automation, and cloud-based solutions.

Personally, I’m detail-oriented, a proactive problem-solver, and a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning.

I have hands-on experience in networking and cybersecurity, gained through my internship at Dedan Kimathi University. My responsibilities included configuring Cisco and D-Link switches, setting up and maintaining wireless access points, troubleshooting internet outages, re-terminating Ethernet cables, and supporting CCTV systems. I also contributed to firewall management, VPN setup, LAN/WAN design, network monitoring, and automation.

Throughout, I provided user support and helped optimize network performance across campus environments.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, graduating with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in 2024. During my studies, I gained a strong foundation in networking, systems administration, and cyber security. I also completed the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) course, which equipped me with practical skills in network configuration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.
