Jesca Sefu

I consider myself a very competent and industrious young woman, who is seeking a career in the biomedical industry, a choice underpinned by my strong academic performance, and relevant work experience. I completed a Biomedical Science degree with professional placement, at Kingston University, London, and was awarded an Upper Second Class in September 2021. I also secured an Industrial Placement at The Institute of Cancer Research UK, (and honorary contract with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust).

This posting gave me a great deal of useful experience and practical insights, as well as further vocational training, which I thoroughly valued and enjoyed. To help fund my way through university, I took periodic employment at Surrey County Council - UK, assigned to several departments as an Administrative Assistant. This helped develop further skill sets, notably client liaison, administration and working in a demanding environment.

Recently I was employed as a Laboratory Assistant with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) mainly assisting with whole genome sequencing of positive SARS-CoV-2 samples. I believe this varied background demonstrates a broad set of experience, skill sets, and personal qualities.
