I am a Kenyan citizen with an MBA Finance from Daystar University Kenya, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom with full accounting qualifications, ACCA, having ACCA Finalist status. I have six years’ experience working as Finance and Administration Manager at The Caucus for Women’s Leadership whose key donors were USIAD, UNDP and CEDPA. I also have eight years’ experience of lecturing of which three years were at university level.
I have also lectured ACCA's Advanced Corporate Reporting and Financial reporting units. I was a consultant on Public Finance Management capacity building in Somaliland and Puntland.
In my previous employment, I was responsible for financial management. I prepared financial reports for auditing, donor financial reports, budgeting for the organisation, asset management as well as procurement needs of the organisation. I have been a lecturer in financial accounting units, auditing as well as business finance ensuring excellence and integrity in teaching and learning so that students well understand the concepts to enable them apply them to their work environment.
I have also participated in capacity building of employees of auditor general and accountant general in Somaliland and Puntland. I am well versed with IFRSs and IASs as these are very important in the working environment and have also carried out research on IAS 41 Agriculture. I also have experience in guiding undergraduate students in research.
From August 2007 to June 2010 I was at Daystar University working on an MBA degree and majored in Finance. In January 1999 to October 2003 I studied ACCA at Kenya College of Accountancy and later at Oshwal college and became an ACCA finalist. At the same time worked on my BSc Accounting at Oxford Brookes University. Between July 2003 and August 2003 worked on a Certificate on Computer Applications at African Virtual University. And lastly QuickBook applications in September 2006
