Kenny Githungo

I am a resource mobilizer at Destiny Shapers Foundation in Korogocho, Nairobi. I focus on building strategic partnerships and mobilizing resources to support vulnerable and orphaned children in the Korogocho slum. My work involves coordinating community programs that provide education, feeding schemes, mentorship, guidance and counseling, as well as child sponsorship programs.

Additionally, I engage with families of the children to improve their livelihoods through skills training and socio-economic empowerment initiatives. My aim is to contribute to sustainable development and improved quality of life for marginalized communities in Korogocho.

I am a dedicated and experienced community development and social research professional with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi. I specialize in program coordination, data quality control, and field research management, with a strong focus on empowering vulnerable populations through education, nutrition, and socio-economic initiatives.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Nairobi, a program designed to impart theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and applied skills in sociology. The curriculum consists of 44 units and covers diverse areas such as socialization processes, comparative sociology, and other social science subjects through a blend of lectures, seminars, fieldwork, and research. This academic foundation equips graduates with a deep understanding of social structures, behaviors, and development issues, preparing them for effective roles in community development, social research, and related fields.

The program emphasizes practical fieldwork and interactive learning to develop competencies suited for addressing social challenges in Kenya and beyond.
