KEMRI-RCTP CMR – TB & SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Study
POSITION- Project Assistant A longitudinal cohort study seeking to understand the impact of COVID-19 on tuberculosis morbidity and mortality amongst patients with active Tuberculosis, in Kisumu County
Implement all components of the study protocol at the site level
Ensure protocol compliance and procedures for all study components
Explaining the study, administering informed consent and, recruiting all eligible participants
Assist in sample collection for SARS-CoV-2 screening
Administer baseline, weekly, month 2 and month 6 survey using RedCap data collection tool
Regularly monitor participants status and refer as per protocol
Conduct routine follow up visits and assessment for participants during the study
Conduct contact tracing for all TB and COVID-19 confirmed cases
Ensure completeness and accuracy of data
Assist with dissemination of study finding

PATH KENYA- Adherence and Retention Officer
Coordinated and represented the project in counties advocacy in technical working groups.
Facilitate observational therapy for adolescents struggling with on ART in liaison with schools’ guidance and counselling, peer educators and community health volunteers.
Provide technical support for implementation of quality assurance/quality
Improvement of psychosocial support and adherence interventions at C.B.O’s, facility sites and community levels.
Support implementation of evidence-based quality programming in adherence and psychosocial support at both community and health facility levels
Provide technical support and supervision for implementation of quality community adherence.
Supported activities Including community ARV refills for HIV care and treatment PMTCT service delivery
Coordinated community units linked to high volume facilities to promote antenatal coverage,
skilled delivery, FP uptake, integrated community case management and defaulter tracing of HIV treatment and TB clients.
Supported the establishment and strengthening of community-facility linkages and adherence systems at facilities and community in project area for optimal patient outcomes.
Identified training needs, planned and facilitated training sessions on adherence and stigma reduction for psychosocial support groups and peer educators.
Ensured that project activities comply with National guidelines and policies for HIV/ AIDS.
