ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN at KENGEN - OLKARIA GEOTHERMAL POWER STATIONS (2016-01 – 2016-06)

• General routine daily proposed jobs allocation as they are in the programme chart and actual work done and recorded in the section job allocation book
• Weekly update in the section performance board and filling of records
• Troubleshooting of electrical failures in the plant auxiliaries equipment as reported by the operation control team.providing the necessary remedy and ensuring the operation of power generation is not compromised.
• Raising of store reservation in workflowgen and SAP modules to ensure proper costing of the spares is done and updated correctly in the system.
• Inspection and annual maintenance of generator and exciter parts
• Annual maintenance of ground mounted power transformers and on load tap-changer device maintenance
• Servicing and calibration of analogue and electromagnetic protection relays for the entire power plant
• Servicing of station protection and communication batteries.
• Servicing and calibration of analogue power indicating meters.
• Servicing of station security and float lighting system around the power plant.
• Providing technical support to the other section s/department in the geothermal production power project.
• Checks and inspection of 415v induction motors and their starter control circuits wiring
• Checks and maintenance of SF-6 gas circuit breakers and vacuum circuit breakers and the control wiring.
• Read and interpret schematic and wiring diagrams.
