I'm a registered community health nurse who's been on the front lines of infectious disease outbreaks, outpatient care, and community nursing. Most recently, I was part of the Mpox emergency response team at Coast General Utange Field Hospital with an NGO, where I helped manage isolation wards, infection control, and patient monitoring in a high-risk, fast-paced environment. • Was deployed into a high-risk isolation unit during an active outbreak fast-paced, high-pressure, and strictly protocol-driven.
• Handled suspected and confirmed infectious cases from triage through to isolation, daily monitoring, and supportive care.
• Did thorough patient assessments: vital signs, skin changes, hydration levels, pain scoring whatever helped catch early deterioration.
• Followed infection control like a second nature: donning and doffing PPE correctly, managing isolation waste, decontaminating patient areas after every shift.
• Kept outbreak tracking data clean and accurate documentation, case reporting, surveillance support for the county health team.
