About

I'm a Civil Engineering graduate from the Technical University of Mombasa - coursework fully completed, formal graduation in November 2026 - with practical experience that spans structural design, site supervision, construction works management, material testing, and project coordination. The broadest expression of that experience is a residential mansion project in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County, where I handled structural calculations and AutoCAD drawing production through to supervising substructure works on site, verifying against the structural drawings at every stage. I know how to read and interpret engineering drawings, prepare accurate Bills of Quantities, requisition materials, write up technical reports, and manage people working under me which is the core of what a Works Officer I role at Bandari Maritime Academy demands.

My EBK Graduate Engineer registration is currently being processed after submission. I'm proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Word, and I bring the discipline, attention to detail, and site accountability this role requires.

Experience

Structural Design & Site Supervision of 3-Bedroom Residential Mansion - Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County

(2026-06 - 2026-08)

This is the project I'm most proud of, and the one that tested me the hardest. With rigorous consultations, I took it from a blank site through to substructure completion, acting as both the structural designer and the supervising engineer throughout. Holding relevant consultations with professional mentor engineers in making structural decisions, producing the drawings, and standing on site to making sure what was being built actually matched what was designed.

  • With professional guidance I carried out full structural design for the project including isolated column footings, enhanced plinth beam, stone masonry foundation walls, and flat roof
  • Produced professional multi-view AutoCAD drawing sheets at 1:100 scale including floor plan, roof plan, and Section AA - drawings that were used directly on site.
  • Prepared comprehensive Bills of Quantities covering concrete works, reinforcement steel, masonry, and finishes; carried out concrete mix calculations (1:2:4 ratio), brick quantity schedules, and reinforcement BOQs benchmarked to current market pricing.
  • Supervised all substructure construction works on site, verifying at every stage that what was being built matched the approved structural drawings by raising and resolving on-site problems in real time.
  • Managed material requisitions from inception, reviewing supplier quotations and coordinating deliveries to match the construction programme.
  • Prepared work schedules and technical reports for the client throughout the project.
