Position: Accountant

Duties

•  I prepare cash books for the various bank accounts of the SACCO which help to show the deposits and withdrawals by the SACCO.
• I prepare the various sub-ledger accounts and reconcile them to the general ledger.
• I prepare the bank reconciliation statements and reconcile the SACCO amounts with the amounts in the various bank accounts. 
• I handle all the cash payments and record them in the petty cash book. 
• I support the internal and external audit by providing sufficient financial information on SACCO. 
• I ensure that all cash and cheques are banked promptly. 
• I prepare the monthly budget for the various forecasted expenditure of the SACCO.
• I prepare the payroll for the SACCO staff and remit their NHIF, NSSF, and PAYE return. 
• I prepare the financial statements for SACCO and other accounting documents.
• I prepare the financial reports and present them to the SACCO Board of Directors to help in decision-making.
